How it all started

Kings MMA was founded in 2010 by Master Rafael Cordeiro in Huntington Beach, Ca. Master moved him and his family to Huntington Beach from Curitiba, Brazil in hopes to make bigger dreams come true. Kings was that dream.

History

Master Rafael Cordeiro began training at the age of 13 years old at Chute Boxe Academy in Curitiba, Brazil. He soon became of of the leading Captains in the gym, earning his Muay Thai Black Belt at the age of 19. He went on to become Brazil’s Lightweight Muay Thai Champion and World Champion for International Vale Tudo Championships (IVC).

Master Cordeiro retired after a 13 year fighting career and turned to coaching his team mates. These teammates included Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Fabricio Werdum, Anderson Silva, and Cris Cyborg.

Rafael Cordeiro has now trained over 16 World Champions, and has been recognized as “Coach of the Year” in 2012 and 2015 by Fighters Only Magazine Awards.

Today Master continues to spread his knowledge from teaching beginners to our professionals.
